Should Ed Sheeran really guest star on 'Game of Thrones'? | The Tylt
Ed Sheeran is set to guest star on the upcoming season of HBO's "Game of Thrones." While Sheerios and some Throners are excited about the announcement, others say the casting unnecessarily capitalizes on Sheeran's high-profile celebrity. It's just stunt casting at its worst. Others say it's no different than Coldplay's guest spot back in season three. What do you think?

Should high-profile celebrities get starring roles over actual actors? On the other hand, why shouldn't Sheeran venture into acting? Many pop music stars become serious television and movie stars. He could easily become a respected actor.
Sheerios are elated to hear Sheeran will guest star on one of TV's most epic shows. Sheeran is everywhere these days, and there's no stopping his celebrity.
"Game of Thrones" star Maisie Williams is a major Sheerio, and wanted Sheeran to appear on the series for years now. The show's producers are making her dreams come true. So sweet.
That's the thing. Sheeran is a mega celebrity and musician—not an actor. Having him guest star on "Game of Thrones" seems more like a publicity stunt rather than a choice based on his merits as an actor. Sheeran is a fantastic music artist and pop star, but isn't he robbing a serious actor of an opportunity?
Still—some Throners and Sheerios can't wait for season seven with Sheeran's appearance.

Ed Sheeran makes a cameo on @GameofThrones because Maisie is a big fan and the showrunners wanted to find a way for her to meet him. Aw.

Critics are rolling their eyes at this choice.
Why the H is @edsheeran getting a cameo on #GameofThrones? No one asked for this.. 😐

Ed Sheeran has a cameo in Game of Thrones. There's no safe place, nowhere to hide from him. I feel violated by the pushiness of his agents.
